OUR STORY
Back in 2014, while doing an academic research about future cities for Ravensbourne University of London, Nina came across many projects but almost all were related to technology. It was only when she discovered the work of the botanist Patrick Blanc, responsible for modernizing and popularizing vertical garden that suddenly everything connected. Her childhood in the vibrant countryside of Brazil, her experiences of filming and living in the amazon rainforest and her understanding of the urgency of helping cities to become a more eco-friendly space to everyone.
Almost five years down the line she is continuously designing and planting vertical gardens across London. Together with her work and green innovations taking place across the world, Nina is committed to empower citizens to transform a blank wall, fence or any other empty space into a vertical garden.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Here at Replanting Cities we want to work with nature, not against it. Which is why we want to use this platform to spread an understanding of plants, their importance for people and the environment. Any empty space, however small, can be host to an abundance of flowers, foliage and even fruit and vegetables.
As city residents we believe we need to learn from each other and share innovative ideas of how to replant our cities. Hopefully these actions will create a better and more beautiful environment for the people living in urban areas and also provide a supportive ecosystem for essential wildlife and pollinators.

Our key aims:
ENCOURAGE people to grow plants and learn how to look after them; to improve their own environment and wellbeing.
INSPIRE people to gather together to rebuild and reinforce communities through gardening.
CONNECT with other groups that are developing green projects on a local, national and international level.
